New Tool Helps Public Sector Estimate Tariff Costs on Capital Projects
AMO is excited to introduce a new modelling tool developed by **Oxford Economics** to help public sector organizations estimate tariff costs on capital construction projects. Designed in close consultation with municipal public works leaders and treasurers, this tool offers a practical, data-informed way to understand and communicate tariff-related cost pressures.
To complement the tool, AMO also commissioned Oxford Economics to develop a report estimating the impact of trade tariffs on expected municipal construction costs over the next two years.
Although originally developed with municipalities in mind, the tool can be leveraged by a wide range of public sector organizations—including school boards, provincial agencies, and broader public sector (BPS) entities—to support capital planning and procurement activities.
To help organizations get started, Oxford Economics has created a supplemental user guide and a video tutorial to help your teams get started.
